Hi Soomoon,

The problem that you propose for solving is a classical case of the “reinforced concrete”, called “struts and ties”.

This means the creation of a structural model (truss type) based on biarticulated bars (struts  acted in compression and ties  acted in traction). No bending is involved in the model.

For such a model, a classical truss analysis program can be enough.

The potential problem starts when your model isn’t at least isostatical one.

Only an isostatical problem can be solved by using equilibrium equations only.

Of course, we can look for an equilibrium solution of a mechanism, but the system is still unstable.

Mechanisms are not strictly rigid and that’s your model, see below:

It seems that in your figure there is an external support. This is not enough; you still have two trapezes that are mechanisms.

Please do not feel offended, but (IMHO) a wrong physical formulated problem can not hope a good mathematical solution.
