Andrey,

I have started work on an improved solve routine. It will take me a while to complete because I do not have alot of time each day to devote to it and I am still very ignorant about the Smath API and still a novice with .NET programming in general.

I was wondering, if you have the time, if you could make an example plugin (or a short video) showing how to implement the following simple test plugin. It has no practical value except as a learning tool for myself.

Where argument #1 is the mathematical expression to be solved and argument #2 is the variable in argument #1 that is to be replaced by the value in argument #3.

Andrey, if you have a better example that demonstrates similar aspects of the Smath API, please feel free to share that instead. However, it should not try to do too much but should be kept simple.

Thankfully,

maweilian, sorry for waiting the answers. These days I'm working hardly on significant source code changes to provide best interfaces for plugin creating (specially for the File Types plugins).

I plan to release next beta with huge changes of core sources and then I will provide examples using that new sources (I don't want you and me to do double work, to create examples/plugins for 0.89 and then for 0.90).

Best regards.

Andrey,

In the posts above, you mentioned that you were making changes to the Smath API. I have been waiting for these changes before I continue my exploration of plugin creation. Are these changes included in version 89.8? Or do you recommend that I continue waiting for 0.90?

I am assuming that the existing plugin tutorials on the wiki will need to be updated to match the changes? Is that right?

Looking forward to continuing to expand my understanding of the Smath API!
