Your CoolProp function, as you write it, does not change the sign, between the two limits of the variable p :

Hi,

The problem, as you formulated, seems as not having a solution in real numbers, in order to be solved with the solve routine.

I'm sorry but I have no time to reformulate your problem.

If you intend to solve it numerically, try to check the continuity of the function and the fact that in the range you look for solution there is at least one change of the function value sign.

The problem as stated in the opening post, actually has a solution in the given range.

Yet, I don't see an alternative to using brute force to tame the coolprop function: sampling and interpolation.

Hi. The guess values, in this case the range, are part of the solution, this means that you must know where the numerical procedure works fine. In this case the interval 1 MPa ... 6 MPa.

Hi Valery. I find it quite inappropriate that what is a voluntary collaboration helping on regarding a translation, and therefore supposedly free of commitment on both sides, is publicly claimed in the forum. This situation seems to reflect some type of irresponsibility on my part as I am failing to make some type of commitment, which, I insist, there is none. I would sincerely like to receive some kind of explanation as to why you are making a public complaint about a translation job on my part when there is no agreed commitment.
