That damned solid has a bit of history [MathSoft Collaboratory, date ?].
It came as a question if it could be made CAD/CAM for CNC machine shop.
Answer is NO, looking at the very last "Immitate contour plot".
It would have to be be machined in two parts, then welded together.
Each part being quite difficult to CAD/CAM ... Not my cup of tea !
I'm done with that one, however most interesting wrt "Quaternion".
