'int' from the fx menu is the definite integration
operator over the [a,b] range. 'int(2)' gone with 6179.
No problem to fix from previous 5346, but inconsistent.
Think of new users !

This is by design; functions like int(2) or lim(3) are just glyphs, they didn't work, hence are hidden (exactly to not generate confusion in newbie users).
If you have seen it in previous versions it was because some plug-in (Maxima Plugin).

If you use the Maxima plugin and execute MaximaTakeover("all" ) then int(2) and lim(3) come to life, be it in older versions or in the current one. But the plugin was never able to populate the side palettes with buttons.

It will be possible in the next SS relase. Jean's question was about fx menu (dynamic assistance and functions' dialog).

Hello Martin,

There must be a trick about "MaximaTakeover".
Does come with some of 68 plugins [6179] ?
The attached will rescue Smath 6179 new users.

I am not sure, what was the point of your post.
- Need hints on the usage of MaximaTakeover? -> Interactive handbook, see Toolbar -> [?]
- Want to plot derivative or integral of some functions? Here you are:

I am not a new user, but your example is way too advanced for me.
The magic of defining functions without using their formal arguments on the right hand side of the definition is beyond my comprehension.
