Amazing job

How about interface the SMath Studio to Android.
There millions of phone with this operation system - it getting more popular by the day. SMath Studio could be perfect mathematical tool and first choice for students and professionals.
You probably will have chance to make sufficient money for future development by charging let say $0.99 for professional version on the Android app market.

Another suggestion

Add option to change the background to black. Why...In most new phone use OLED displays. They using significantly less energy with black background (pixels off).

I totally agree. I just got a Droid phone myself yesterday. I would be willing to pay for the Droid version

The best I've found for the Droid, so far, is an emulator for the HP 48G. That was one of the first graphic calculators I used back in the mid to late 1990's, so it should be easy for me to use. But I definitely would like to see SMath Studio in my DROID.

I would definitely pay for an Android version of SMath Studio. Nothing else on the Android Market even comes close.

I agree. I made 2 $50 donations over the last couple of years, and I would gladly pay or donate $50 more for an Android version. I have been using Mathcad since version 1, but since PTC got it, it is too much trouble.

I have tried installing Ubuntu Linux and the winforms library on my tablet, but the linux version of SMath just won't run on it.

Excellent news!
I have donated in the past for both the Windows PC version (which I still use) and the Windows CE version (which I no longer use). I would DEFINITELY pay for an Android version that will run on my ICS tablet.
Keep up the good work, and please keep us informed about progress.
And if you need any alpha-testers - pick me!

Thrilled to see you've started work on the Android version. I've donated in the past & I just did again to support this.

I'd love to be a beta tester. I have and Android phone and tablet.

Thanks for the great product and effort.

Count me in. Just one thing. Pleeeease make it available on more than google play. Not all android devices can get access to google play. I love my Coby 9742 but it doesn't do google play. Amazon Apps for Android works for all things droid.
Looking forward to it.

One more eager to contribute / donate.

I didn't put my credit card on Google Play yet as most of apps are games (I don't play computer games) or almost useless stuff (for me at least).
but would do it happily just to buy SMath. I can donate directly by PayPal either.

Thank you for your formidable job!

Both my wife and I use SMath regularly for school (wife) and work (self). We are both increasingly migrating away from laptops toward very high performance desk-top and android phones.

So, we are both eagerly looking forward to having a droid version, and would be more than happy to pay for it!

Nice to see the pic of the "pre-alpha" version. Keep up the brilliant work.

Andrey, the live (online) version of SMath almost works on my Galaxy Android phone (Also on iPhone). The only issue is that the virtual keyboard does not pop up when I click over the work area. However, I can still click on the items from the side tool bars and write equations. Is there a way to modify the code (HTML, ASP, etc) on your web server to get it to make the keyboard pop up on an Android device when clicking/hovering over the work area? If this is possible, SMath could be used on any of these portable devices as a cloud application. Again, many of us would gladly pay to have SMath in our portable devices. Just a thought!

Best Regards,

jadedx

I know this is over a year old, but I'll add my voice that I'd pay for an Android App.

Realistically, I'd prefer to be able to export and use Viewer files on my phone - I see that as more useful than being able to edit and use full .sm files there.

Whether they were standalone apk's, or files to use within an app, I'd love to be able to run the custom calculators for functions here at work.

Why free and without adds? Profit for SMath developers is good for all of us :-D

Update.

SMathStudioAndroid.0_2.apk (11 MiB) downloaded 111 time(s).

Changes:
  • Floating button implemented instead of Top Panel;
  • Rendering of empty placeholders fixed;
  • Input of operators using system on-screen keyboard fixed;
  • Pinch-to-zoom significantly improved;
  • Back button handling corrected;
  • Ability to open files from the phone file system/cloud services finally implemented;
  • Double tap performs zoom now.

Known issues:
  • Non-Latin symbols cannot be inserted only;
  • Impossible to save worksheets;
  • OS can unload opened worksheet with all the changes when app is in the background;
  • App can crash if worksheet opens with errors.

Math must be available for all One who want to help may decide to donate or, another possibility, I can create a separate not free app which will be the same or almost the same as a free one, but will cost for some money (but I don't really like this approach).
Adds is a hell! Personally I hate when it pops up from everywhere or occupies half of a screen when I'm using my phone... And it is always useless!

Best regards.
