Eventual library changes so far do not interfere with the Maxima plugin. Due to the fix of SS-194 all users of the portable distribution with Maxima are advised to upgrade.
after quite some trial and error I finally managed to get SMathStudio running under Wine.

This seems to improve the appearance and some other inconveniences of using SMathStudio with mono are overcome.
sorry no attachments possible

I'll give it another try.

Cool

Thanks for sharing this!
P.S. in this thread you can add images just using BBCodes (hosting the files in the wiki, or using an external service)

That would solve so many of my problems (*cough*pun*cough*)

The combination of
- FindRoot() (numeric solutions with initial guesses),
- Bisection() (numeric solution with known interval for the variables) and
- Solve() (symbolic solutions using Maxima)
is a quite powerful one. All three solvers can handle units and are documented in the interactive Handbook. Please give an example of what you want to solve.
"Method not found: 'System.String Smath.Manager.UnitInfo.GetCurrentUnitName(System.String)'."
Anyone else have this issue?
WroteAfter updating to this version, none of my "if" functions are working. I get the following error:

Please start a new topic and attach there the offending sm file and perhaps a screenshot (you can't attach anything in this topic)

Please update all the plug-ins using Extensions Manager.

Well a simple example from MathCAD would be.
guess
F:=1
given
P=F/A
F:=Find(F)
where P and A are known.

Any news on when the official portable version will be re-introduced? I've been using Mkraska's unofficial version, but some items do not load on start up. I would love to see a portable version that falls under the portableapps.com format (for those of us using windows machines).
Hope all is well. We have not heard from you in a bit
Thank you

Enter SMath, runs great on Windows 8.1, almost the same commands as my old MathCAD. Now I want to run SMath on my Mac running Snow Leopard. There are a lot of stuff on the web and in this forum on doing this via Mono but I honestly could not get it to run.
Can anyone give me some help on this?
I tried to download and install it from the download page but I can't install it.
Using Lubuntu 14.04 btw.
Thanks for any replies.
P.S. I didn't know where to put this question because there was no forum for installing.

Hello hackYou
You have to install mono from the Ubuntu repositoy (libmono-winforms-2.0-cil or mono-complete).
Then you can download the SMath version Desktop Linux (desktop computer with Linux OS), unzip the archive where you want, and finally it is possible to launch the executable using mono.
