roots function - 4 equations with 4 unknowns - Messages
I have tried to attach a couple of .pgn files and the .sm file, can't see if I succeded.

Best regards.

EDIT: Uploading the files:
geom-scb.sm (70 KiB) downloaded 58 time(s).
geom-scb.pdf (174 KiB) downloaded 51 time(s).
Please correct me if I am wrong.
In the past few weeks I have succeded in solving the problem myself, so with this reply I am just hoping, that you will comment on the above mentioned problems.
Anyway thanks for your interest.

WroteI do not quite understand your reply on my problem (:triangle from angle A, its bisector h and its opposite side a). My intention was, that the value of h is given, but as far as I can see, you are using the intersection between a and h named D instead with a coordinate for D = 2.7+0*i. I can nowhere find a value for h, and likewise I do not see a calculation of the coordinate for D, so it seems to me, that it is the coordinates for D which you are taking for given in your solution.

Hi. You're right, I don't show the final results, here they are:
I chose the intersection between h and BC because as given data because I don't know in which form you have the bisector: as length? as slope? The equation of the line h?
Best regards.
Alvaro.
Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately I still do not understand your solution, and atop of that my computer refuses to load your .sm file, because I use an older version of SmathDesktop (since my Linux can't install the latest version).
Answering your question, I define h (AD) as length.
If I use your numbers for angle A (37 degs), side BC (4) and the AD (3.6245) you have calculated from your chosen position of point D, I arrive at the same triangle as you do.
But, since I do not understand your approach, I wonder if I could challenge you to solve the following triangle (and referring to your drawing): angle A (BAC) 40 degrees, opposite side a (BC) 4 cm and angle A's bisector h (AD) 3 cm.
I'm looking forward to see your solution.

I also use linux, with latest smath version.
Could you send your linux distro and kernel?
The red circle is the "arco capaz", in Spanish, I don't know how to call it in English (https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arco_capaz)
Here an explanation about how to draw it by hand:

Thanks for your reply, but unfortunately I still find it difficult to comprehend your math, which of course is my problem.
Hoping, that you (and mayby some others too) would be interested in my solution, I present it here.

The latest mono SmathDesktop installs, but at once I get the message. "Unhandled exception has occurred in you application". It says:" \n\nA null reference or invalid value was found[GDI+ status:InvalidParameter)." and I am urged to quit, which I do!
The AppImage for Ubuntu don't run at all.
But this is not a problem, I am living happily with the 8253 version.

Debian or is derivatives has a Mono problem.
Not only Debian; Ubuntu, Mint, etc has this issue too.
And not limited to Smath, I encountered this for other programs also.
Their glibc and mono binaries giving some problems.
Fortunately, it has a solution.
You have to edit smathstudio_desktop_mono.
Just put export MONO_WINFORMS_XIM_STYLE=disabled command before exec.
Here is the links for discussion of solution;

Thank you for your revised algorithm, which I eventually will be able to test if I ever get the latest version of SmathStudio to work on my Linux.
Yours Søren
Your little fix did not work on my MXLinux. SmathStudio installs, but every time I try to load or save a file, SmathStudio stops and is showing the before mentioned message.
But I can easily live with the older version of SmathStudio, and I am not willing to change distribution, since I am very happy with MXLinux in every other respect.
Anyway - thank you for trying to help me out.

this is just a seek for clarification about your usage of the XY Plot because it is something new to me and it is very interesting .
To draw what is in the XY Plot module you write in Π a procedure that describe the steps needed to execute the drawing .
I was not aware that this was possible and moreover you use in Π the function gXY defined in the snippet area to execute/define some graphical primitives.
My question is where do you find info's that explain this method ? Can you add some detail on where this was documented in more detail ?
I apologize for these super newbie questions but as I stated initially is just for sake of learning something that looks to me very powerful and useful.
Thanks in advance for any help and best regards
Franco

In the aim of better learning of the xy Plot region features I am now reading again all the pages ( about 30 ) of this topic hoping that seeing the hystorical evolution of the PlugIn there is the possibility to improve the undertanding of its features and of the directions that is takeing the development of the new ones ( unlukily due to my ignorance I am starting to get lost with the new features previewed in the last posts about this topic ).
Thanks again and best regards
Franco
It makes sense to add a draw string for shapes.

Hi Viacheslav. Thanks, looks good.
Plugin less version, for instance, it works in live SMath: https://smath.com/en-US/cloud/worksheet/mCZMURm2
